Belinda Nicoll is originally from South Africa and has been a U.S. resident since 2001. She holds a degree in Social Sciences. She was a talent agent, drama coach, and writer / producer of amateur theatre before venturing into the advertising industry as copywriter, human resource manager, and client service director.
Belinda divides her time between life coaching and writing. Understanding the demands of life transitions in general, and the difficulty of transcultural orientation specifically, one particular aspect of life coaching Belinda enjoys is helping expatriates cope with this challenging process. As a writer too, she enjoys helping other writers unblock their creativity and increase their productivity.
Belinda mainly writes about the difficulty of life transitions and transcultural orientation. Her articles on life coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) have been published in The Healing Springs Journal, and she has appeared as a guest on the TV show, “Health Connections” (SACC-TV Ch. 16, Schenectady). She’s currently adding the last touches to a memoir, My Life as an Alien, a story that confronts the kaleidoscope of life transitions, the difficulty of transcultural orientation, loss of identity and the rediscovery of authenticity in a world turned upside-down. She also writes short stories and keeps a travel log.
Belinda and her husband love traveling and share a keen interest in cultural diversity. Their journeys and careers have taken them through large parts of Southern Africa, America, Europe, Canada, the Middle East, Mexico, and to exotic islands such as Mauritius, Phuket, The Comores, St. Thomas, and St. John.
